6 year old Elizabeth loved her Papa with a passion. When he disappeared, without a trace, her little heart, so bound to his by love, was crushed. The horrors of the war kept grinding slowly along and then escalating. When soldiers set their house on fire, burning all their treasured possessions, there could be no more hesitation. The little family had to flee for their lives.

And then again, and yet again….
