Bringing together an international running community in Canada’s great white north

What began as a one-time marathon, blossomed into an annual event that has brought together international athletes for a decade. The Polar Bear Marathon takes participants along the coast of the infamous Hudson Bay in the Polar Bear capital of the world, testing the limits of the mind, body, and spirit.

Although the threat of harsh, sub-arctic conditions and apex predators looms each year, these forces of nature cannot compete with the fierce determination of the runners and the warm embrace of the people of Churchill.

The reward of participating in this extreme event brings with it the shared experiences and lasting friendships that bond these runners and the Northern community together.
