Lawrence Klippenstein was a storyteller at heart, and that voice comes through in his memoirs detailing his life as a student, teacher, church worker, Mennonite historian and archivist, as well as a husband and father. This text is part of a larger narrative as members of Klippenstein’s Mennonite generation grappled with urbanization, professionalization, and relations with Indigenous peoples. Lawrence and his wife LaVerna were active writers and journalists, which now aids Lawrence in his storytelling.
