Don Thiessen has been married to Minna for 56 years and for 50 of those years they have enjoyed their children, Mark and Yvonne, and the spouses and grandchildren they brought into the family. Don’s life has been one of studies, teaching, ministry, carpentry and some cabin life. All of these, the people and the vocations and avocations, have intertwined to be a satisfying and enriching life. Those who have followed Don and Minna’s life over the past few years will agree that the “walking” metaphor is very appropriate: they have done long hikes and still walk regularly. Don and Minna’s retirement years continue to bring opportunities for ministry and a bit of leisure.
