Vignettes from My Life

$26.95

by Tannis M Richardson

Tannis`s marriage to George Richardson, ultimately head of one of Canada`s most prominent companies, thrust her into the national and international spotlight, but her heart and her many volunteer efforts have always centred on Manitoba.

Following the death of their eldest child, Pamela, of juvenile diabetes at just 29, Tannis co- founded Starry Starry Nights in Winnipeg, which over the past half-century has raised many millions for research into the disease. She continues to contribute to this confounding illness with the sales of her book, as all proceeds will go to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation of Canada.

Over the decades, Tannis has also been involved as a volunteer and supporter of many other organizations, including the Health Sciences Centre, the Winnipeg Art Gallery, the Manitoba Opera Association, the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra and has been a leading champion and volunteer fundraiser with the Winnipeg Art Gallery. Her support has extended to the Friends of Upper Fort Garry, the Winnipeg Library Foundation, the Manitoba Museum, United Way Winnipeg, the Canadian Foundation for AIDS Research, the Royal Aviation Museum of Western Canada, and the Kidney Foundation of Canada.
